When I got back from Chicago with Chile, my husband was at work. So I had to take a taxi home.
Forgetting my key, I then used the code on our garage door opener to go into the house that way. However, the code didn't work. The key pad was broken.
During the sunniest part of the day on a cloudless, sunny day, it was a HOT 97 degrees Fahrenheit (actual temperature) outside with very high humidity. Ugh!!! I was locked out of the house (me & Chile) with none of the neighbors home!!! So I had to call my husband to come home from the office (40 minutes away) to rescue us.
Luckily, I still had a full bottle of water that I had bought at the airport. I also got a chair off our deck; which at that time of day is in full sun & unusable on a hot day. You probably could have cooked an egg on the deck. Or close to it. It was so hot that it was impossible to walk bare footed across the deck.
Not knowing what else to do, I took the chair & went to sit with Chile under a tree in the side yard. That kept the bright sun off of us. By the time, my husband finally got home to unlock the door, I was far more worse for wear than Chile. She really didn't seem to be at all bothered. I was suffering. Obviously, Chile does heat better than I do. She didn't even pant
This was a "selfie" taken to pass the time while I waited to get out of the extreme heat. Did I press the shutter button or did Chile? The photo was supposed to be of Chile, but I was in it, too.
