Ever since the zoo parking lot shooting back in March, the Kansas City Zoo now has armed City Police patrolling the grounds. This is in addition to their regular security guards. In just the month since I was last at the zoo in early June, the number of City Police has also noticeably increased over the officers originally assigned to this duty.

How sad that a significant police patrol is now needed. This officer is only one of several officers present at the Zoo whenever the zoo is open.
