This is the first time that I've used the zoom on my Cell Phone.
I've heard that the zoom on NO mobile phone currently on the market is very good. These cameras are still at their best without the zoom.
With my Galaxy 4 being the newest and supposedly one of the best as of today, I won't disagree. The jpg is both quite soft and over processed IMHO. Zooming only makes this worse. Therefore no cell phone would be a camera I will use for serious work... Not unless it's the only camera I have available for a once-in-a-lifetime capture.
Then, subject may matter more than quality.
Meanwhile this current cell phone is respectable for keeping memories.
If nothing else, at least it can capture a moment in time.
My old cell phone couldn't have done even this good for this subject - mainly because it had no zoom. So the goose would have been a dark dot.
However, there is still lots of room for improvement on cell phone cam quality. Cell phones have a ways to go before replacing a high quality P&S with good optical zoom. It will be interesting to see what the future brings.
