... to this statue from my living room.
A number of years back, I sculpted a similar piece that then went on exhibit at ART SHOW AT THE DOG SHOW. The original piece only had 5 dogs.
Wanting to keep the first statue for myself - but being required to offer it for sale to have it on exhibit - I priced it at $900. I expected to take it home. But I didn't!!!
So I sculpted two more: one with a red rug and 7 dogs (this photo) and one with a lavender rug and 9 dogs. The original had a green rug.
All 3 sculptures were done early in my career. I never offered the one above for sale.
The one with the lavender rug (IMHO better because my style had improved by that point) was sold for more than the original.
If the one with the red rug hadn't matched my décor better, I would have kept the lavender one instead. All 3 statues are slightly different; yet similar.
I hand sculpted each to be a one-of-a-kind original. But I suppose you could say there were 3 in the series.
I also added a music box to all of the 3 different versions of this sculpture. The music box sweetly plays "Fur Elise" by Beethoven.
