Night

Big Boy watching us in the Tundra Lodge

Who knows what he was thinking? Once we humans in the lodge bedded down for the night, most of the Polar Bears seemed to retreat to the cover of the willow until morning.

Yes, it was handheld. This was a spur-of-the-moment capture.
It's not everyday that after dinner I can stick my camera out the dining room window & shoot a wild Polar Bear. Although the P&S isn't the greatest with noise at ISO 1600, it did okay with the very poor lighting. I took this shot mainly because I didn't want to forget the rare moment. It was definitely a night to remember.
