Lunar Eclipse Series - Aug 28, 2007

Here's a series of images from the lunar eclipse on Aug 28, 2007. Haven't had too much time to clean this up yet, but you get the idea. It was a very dewy morning, and toward the end I had to wipe the lens after every exposure! Shots were taken every 2.5 minutes, with exposures ranging from 1/500 @ f/6.3; to 3 sec at f/4.0 depending on the progress of the eclipse. Here, every other shot is shown for about 2 hours of the event.

Wow you did an awesome job on this! I only caught the eclipse at around 4:45 which made me miss the total eclipse but it was still really beautiful with the orangey halo glow around the moon. Where did you shoot this from? I am in the Bay Area and it was crystal clear that morning. So sorry I missed it! Thanks for posting this for us all to see this amazing phenomenon!

Alright Brian! I knew someone would do this. Not me though ;-) Excellent! It gives a hi-fi idea of what it was like. This kind of layering is way beyond my carpal-tunnel right now ;-( Thanks & good job - g
