While the crowds of visitors made their tracks to the largest dunes, the field just to the west
of the biggest dune was still relatively un-tracked - and allowed me to gather a couple nice images.
This is one of my favorites...shooting into the sun to find a nice shadow/highlight composition.

Because I was out 'playing' with the family at this time, I didn't lug along my
tripod, and had to shoot many of these handheld at high ISOs, at very tight apetures (f/16-f/20).
Thank goodness for the great noise characteristics of the 5D, which still allowed some quality
photos to be achieved under these conditions!

1/500s at f/20; ISO 1250. Shot with my 70-200L at 131mm.

Nicely done. The DOF and lighting are perfect.
