This is the oft-photographed wash on the south side of the primary 'Wave' area. Here I've taken a different approach from my previous work at this site, and emphasized more the foreground striations, while keeping the rich indirect light well in the background. An essential element of this image is the horizontal line (striation) about 3/4 the way up the right side of the photograph. I found that the image has much more 'stability' when the composition was oriented with this line horizontal. During the Fall and Spring, this area is in shadow through much of the morning, and there's no real rush to get to this spot for that 'perfect' light.
