Waterfall Detail, East Zion

Later in the morning, after we had taken the “Ephemeral Stream" photographs, we proceeded to another waterfall visible not far from the road. After a bit of careful hiking and tricky stream crossings, we arrived at the place where this stream cascaded into the base of the canyon. This was quite an interesting place, where large trees and bushes grew quite close to the falls, making for some interesting, but difficult compositions. My favorite images examine the detail of this little waterfall...I especially like the motion across and 'through' this photograph.

Miracles of nature under your lens, Brian, shows how velvet soft water rub the stone and smooth it. The opposite directions of the waterfall and the contarasts give the photo its power.
