The grave of Allan Kardec, the spiritualist (or "spiritist," as his followers insist), is one of the most-visited graves at the Père Lachaise cemetery. There were two people communing with him this Friday when I wandered by. Is one of them Madame Ranah? (See my photo for 22 Jan 2005.)
The inscription at the top says: "Birth, death, rebirth again, and ceaseless progression: that is the law."
