Business As Usual

Mississippi River

This is the shot I went to take yesterday. Three of the four ships waiting are tankers waiting for gasoline, the furthest one looks like a grain ship waiting for a berth in Destrehan or Reserve. The dome-shaped building mid picture is Energy's Waterford III (nuclear powered generator) on the West Bank of the river and on the far right is Little Gypsy which has three steam-powered generators. This one is about a mile from our house. Anyway as you can see things are getting better here but get ready for a repeat along the Texas coast from Rita. The oil refineries there were starting to shut down today and every thing in the gulf is already down.

Just a precaution I hope and they'll start up on Saturday

It looks completely back to normal. I like the way the ships are all lined up at an angle. I'm hoping Rita bypasses y'all too. Or dies out.

Great shot of the ships. The candle should be out Thursday or Friday.

Nice to see activity! Love the rocks in the foreground, giving a better perspective of the width of the river! Certainly praying Rita dies out before landfall!!

Good shot of recovery as we tense waiting for Rita to hit. Terrible year.

Good shot of all of them, Breland. I came by there right at dark. The "Anna" has been there for over a week. Do you think it is part of the Huricane recovery?

You guys sure have your share of worries. Hoping Rita dies out, but doesn't look like it's gonna happen.

It is nice to see life returning to normal, Bre. I hope Rita begins behaving, but a category 5 sounds bad for the Texas coast. I wish you all well !!

Great shot of the ships all lined up!
