first serious zoom

I've never been a fan of zooms....my kind of deliberate shooting
of stationary things never required it and I want the best possible
image quality....so except for an odd photo here and there I've
never used them. Mrs B's D40 kit lens convinced me that I could
get results close to on a par with fixed focal length...so I sprung for
this beautiful Nikkor.

Good luck with your new toy. I am sure you will enjoy it. I use an 18-200 which I almost never take off my camera. Its not the greatest but it sure is handy and this old f--- doesn't have to lug around a ton of equipment.

I hope you enjoy that zoom lens. You should get some great results with that lens and the F5. [I don't have an F5 but I do have an F4 and an F6].
