King Ludwig II of Bavaria had the palace built in 1878 as a "Temple of Fame"
for the French "Sun King" Louis XIV and as a replica of the Palace of Versailles.

Well realised picture. In film camera times was impossible to have a correct exposure for the inside and to be OK for outside part of the picure. Ansel Adams gives an example of a similar perfect picture, but on the next page he is showing how the picture was done having some illumination lights out of visible frame. The negative book. BV
