Mythological figure at the edge of the Fama Fountain.
The Fama Fountain in the parterre in front of Herrenchiemsee Palace was created by Rudolf Maison in 1884-85
based on a fountain in the royal palace La Granja de San Ildefonso in Spain.
King Ludwig II of Bavaria had the palace built in 1878 as a "Temple of Fame"
for the French "Sun King" Louis XIV and as a replica of the Palace of Versailles.
