Autobahnkreuz Nürnberg

view map

Today’s German autobahn system stretches 12,950 km (8,047 miles) across most parts of Germany.
The myth of no speed limits is countered by the fact that Tempolimits are a fact of life on most of Germany’s highways, and traffic jams are common.

"Wir fahr'n fahr'n fahr'n auf der Autobahn..."
Sorry it's so easy but I can't resist.
One day we went to Germany by car to visit for the first time a couple of friend living in Mannheim. It was before the ere of nomads systems. So they have photographed all the directions indicated on the autobahn so that we were sure to arrive to the good address.
