The day after new years day we hiked to the summit of one of the highest points overlooking Lake Jindabyne. Kalkite mountain peaks at 1546m, around 600m above the lake. It's almost like being in a plane from up here! Jindabyne is at the far end of the lake, while Kalkite village is on the left near the centre of frame. It's a 14km round trip, and worth every step.
