3/18 - Dried

Home

USPS dropped off my latest ill-gotten Ebay booty today. It is a new lens, at least it is new to me. This was one of the first
2 dozen shots with it. My wife loves roses, especially dried roses. I am rather pleased with the results.

The lens is nearly legendary (at least to the Minolta faithful) AF 70-210mm f/4 Macro, affectionately known as the "Beercan".

I am not particularly experienced with macro photography so any critiques are welcome.

Great start Bob. Colours are wonderful.
All that I would say is to shoot a lot by hand until you have found your style (as it is quicker). Then get the tripod out!
Always look at the detail, moving around the subject a small amount can make a big difference to the shot.
Look forward to seeing more!

Very nice indeed - love the subject and narrow depth of field!
