This photo of me was taken in 1999 on the Foothills Parkway on the way to my first run on The Dragon. The Dragon is a world famous motorcycle and sports car run that has beautiful mountain scenery and 318 turns packed into 11 miles of U.S. Highway 129. It is located just outside the western end of the park. It basically runs from Lake Chilhowee in East Tennessee to Deal's Gap, North Carolina.
I have covered those 11 miles more than a few times but I'm not so young and foolish any longer. I now wear a helmet that goes down to my ankles.
