Hailes Abbey, Glos. view map

When inspiration goes AWOL and it's as much as you can do to press the shutter, what better place to go than a favourite haunt?

I love it here; despite being a popular place to visit, Hailes Abbey is invariably quiet and devoid of the thronging masses which so spoil many a monument or ruin, especially during the summer holidays. Today was no exception - probably no more than twenty people for the hour or so we were there, so getting a peep-free composition wasn't too hard
