I've wanted to visit the British Museum in London for ages to see Norman Foster's magnificent roof over the Queen Elizabeth II Great Court and Quadrangle...and I wasn't disappointed! It truly is a marvel - the thoroughly 20th century architecture of gentle swooping geometrics complements the graceful wings of the Victorian building which surrounds the original 1850s Reading Room at its centre. I hope this pic does it justice, it really is a wonderful piece of design which allows the light to flood into the huge airy space of the Quadrangle
A photographer's delight, but what with this being half-term week the place was 'rammed' to use the modern vernacular, so the only hope of getting a peep-free photo was to look up!
