El Naranjo is a village in the Colombian Department of Sucre. The journey from Cartagena to El Naranjo commences by bus/taxi to the city of Magangué on the Rio Magdalena. From there it continues by Chalupa (motor boat) to the small city of Sucre-Sucre. Since there are no viable roads leading to Sucre-Sucre, there are literally no cars in the city, just people, animals, bicycles, and motos (motor bikes). It takes one hour on a moto along dirt roads and over ramshackle wooden bridges to reach the caserío (village) of El Naranjo. The locals said that we were the first Gringos to ever set foot into El Naranjo.
