Originally built by the CCC in the 1930's and upgraded in 1961 by the Forest Service, this trail has a series of catwalks that lead up into the beautiful Whitewater Canyon.
The canyon used to be a hideout for Geronimo and was later a mining site until the mill closed down in 1913.
The name "catwalk" came from the early miners who had to naviagate along a narrow water pipe to get up into the canyon.
There's only one word for this hike: Spectacular!
