A Drumlin

195 of 365

Gillis Rd, Victor, NY
(stitched from 4 images)

Drumlins are among one of the five landforms created by the glaciers during the Ice Age.
They are typically elongated hills running north to south. Many times one end is quite
steep where the other end tapers to ground level. The drumlin pictured above is slightly
steeper on the northern (barn) side. This indicates that the ice flowed from north to south.
The other glacial landforms are kettle, esker, moraine and kame.

See where other pbasers live.

I like eskers, when young we used to swim in lands formed in them, you could see the bottom, even at 70 feet, the water was so clear. As for drumlin, first time I hear of them.
