Close up crop of the cracked cable.
The black covered cable goes down and back
up and down again in an "S" fold.
The vertical black plastic guide on the right keeps
the cable in position with part of the cable glued
to it. The bend seems to be too severe though.
There will be another bend in the flexible cable
deeper inside the lens but I havn't gone any further
inside the lens to findout if its damaged or not.
