West Commons extends the railroad to downtown Pittsburgh and brings skyline view into the neighborhood.
However, the pedestrian bridge over the railroad tracks and near the Soldiers Monument is
in an advance state of disrepair.
As far I can recall, it has been closed for a long time.
It is unclear whether the bridge is owned by the Railroad or if it is City property,
but the structure issestimated to have been constructed in approximately 1911, when the railroad
tracks were sunk.
