Lost in a corner of the garden in front of the Great Cascade stands the Danaid Fountain. On the other side of the Samsonovsky Canal stands her counterpart, the Nymph fountain. These are beautifully sculpted designs by Stackenschneider. But when I was there, the Danaid looked not well looked after. The gold paint was damaged quite a bit and it looked like people stood on the vase or something.
