Cape Disappointment Lighthouse

This lighthouse overlooks the bar entrance to the Columbia River. The Columbia River bar is one of the most treacherous crossings in the world. Built in 1856, it is the oldest lighthouse in Washington State.

The last two pictures are of the original 1st order Fresnel lens first used in this lighthouse. The lens is now on display at the nearby Lewis and Clark Discovery Center.
