Newmarket.

This is one of the entrances to Newmarket Rail Station, Newmarket, Auckland. I'd never been here before, and its brand new. Infact I never travel on a train in Auckland... I live 40km north of Auckland and no trains run to where I live.. Aucklands train service only goes South and West..and in the past hasn't been the preferred way to travel. But slowly over the last couple of years I think things are looking up. But most travel by car... so they can get to where they are going ! It was not in operation on sunday when we were there, as they were doing work on the lines.

p.s. I would hate to live in these apartment buildings right on the rail station with the noise of the trains !

I like train noise, but mostly from inside, the thud thud really puts you to sleep fast.

I think I know who that is. :) Yeah, I couldn't live in an apartment at all. Too enclosed and too many people. But, I do love this image and how it draws you in! Great work!

That lens works well here. And with Pam in the scene it give us more of an idea how long it is...

The perfect lens for the job. One gets drawn into this image at high speed as opposed to Lynn's next image ( I work backwards towards my last comment) which is a leisurely trip around a beautiful curve.
Montreal had its West Island commuter lines, on both sides of the island, in before there was a substantial suburbia and development grew up around them. To a lesser degree Toronto did the same thing while Ottawa is presently trying to retrofit a train line amidst a great gnashing of teeth and beating of breasts.

Great perspective in this shot, the 10mm focal length accentuates the depth nicely.
Only one passenger track here, and it goes north to L.A., so very little rail travel for me.

Awesome perspective ~ as far as the eye can see! We Americans love our cars too!

Great perspective! They've had a hard time selling "commute by train" in Texas. V

U-Wide lens does nice job in stretching the perspective of this corridor. V
