This is a photo of my mom's side of the family. Nanny Alice and Poppy Henry Weissman. Poppy Henry was a math teacher in the NYC school system. He taught at Lincoln HS here in Brooklyn and retired in the mid '50s with a salary of around $5600 a year. He was able to buy more than a teacher making $100,000 now. He was born in 1885 and passed away in 1992 at the age of 107.
Nanny Alice was a special grandmother. She made all of grandchildren feel special. She passed away at the age of 86.
They met in California and moved to NYC. They came from Russia in the early 1900's
