Ireland - Co.Louth - Cooley Peninsula - Carlingford.

Carlingford is a coastal town in northern County Louth. It is situated on the southern shore of Carlingford Lough with Slieve Foy as a backdrop. It is the main town on the Cooley Peninsula. Carlingford is 90 kms north of Dublin and 11 km south of the border with Northern Ireland. Carlingford won the Irish Tidy Towns Competition in 1988. The town still retains its medieval layout noticeable by the narrow lanes and small streets with many colourful house facades.
