Gargoyle of St. Vitus Cathedral, Prague. There were weird and wonderful monstrous dragons, demons and scorpions, monkeys and eagles. As elsewhere, the gargoyles serve both a spiritual and a purely functional purpose, since the cathedral's rain piping comes out of their mouths and carries the water away from the building itself.
