The Trifid Nebula, M20 is a lovely combination of red emission and blue reflection nebulae, lying about 5,000 light-years away between us and the Galactic Centre in Sagittarius. It's a colourful scene, with some dark dust clouds, and an evaporating column of gas within the nebula to the upper right. All of this sits in front of lots of reddish stars of the Milky Way's Bulge.
