Near and far nebulae in Carina

Loftus, NSW

The NGC3576 complex is relatively nearby, 6,000 light-years away and relatively small. Its pinkish colour is emission from hydrogen gas. It sits in a pretty field, with many colourful Milky Way stars in the scene.

Canon EOS 60D
