Swan Nebula

Loftus, NSW

Messier 17, the Swan Nebula is a bright stellar factory about 5,500 light-years away in Sagittarius. The stars aren't completely sharp, not sure if that's down to the telescope or the imaging conditions.

Canon EOS 60D
16 x 5 minutes (80 minutes integration time), ISO800, EOS 60D, darks, flats and bias subtracted. 150mm f/5 Newtonian on HEQ5 pro mount, Orion mini autoguider. Stacked and processed in PixInsight and Photoshop. hide exif
