SN2014cx in NGC337

Loftus, NSW

Not the most visually inspiring image ever :) but it shows the supernova in irregular spiral galaxy NGC337 as it was on 22nd October. The supernova is just to the upper left of the galaxy.

Conditions were pretty hazy that night, and so much potential detail was lost (individual subs were reddish from smoke/dust haze and light-pollution). The SN was barely visible in the 16" scope, but I doubt I'd have seen it if I wasn't already looking for it!

6 x 5-minute exposures at ISO640. full exif

other sizes: small medium large original auto
