NGC55 closeup, no nova!

A closer view of NGC 55 with a comparison to Greg Bock's image from 6th October showing the 'supernova imposter'. The nova had faded below about 18th magnitude by the time of my image (bottom), on 18th October. Greg's image is a stack of 21 x 30 seconds exposures.

Canon EOS 60D
A stack of 7 x 5-minute exposures, ISO640, 750mm Newtonian on HEQ5pro, guided with Orion mini autoguider. Flats subtracted, no darks. full exif
