An unusual amount of rain has turned the Desert Landscape in Campo, California green.
Taken from the inside of what I thought was an old Grain Elevator at the Motor Transport Museum.
One of the men working there told us that the Elevator was not used for Grain, but for Feldspar used in making porcelain.
There was a feldspar mine nearby and this Elevator next to the railroad tracks running from San Diego to Yuma, Arizona and beyond was used for storage and loading.
Many of the men who worked the mine died as a result of having inhaled the dust.
The mine has been shut down many years and the Elevator is slowly decaying as the desert outside blooms.
The image above was taken for the Weekly Informal Challenge (Week 42): "Landscape"
