Marmite Soldiers with Soft Boiled Egg
Laine sent me a link to a Vegemite site yesterday that included this "recipe" for breakfast.
I substituted Marmite for Vegemite. It was delicious dipping the Marmite soldiers (toast with marmite) into the egg.

A fabulous picture although not my kind of breakfast.

Oh, bet that tasted good...do prefer my Vegemite though, however I am open to trying ( and I have ) Marmite which is slightly stronger in taste I recall.
Originally the British version was sold in airtight earthenware pots ( marmite in French ) hence the name.

Your soldiers & that egg look delicious, Walter...pleased you found a healthy start to your day from that site !!

I don't know the product marmite, but marmite in french is a big cooking pot.

Haven't heard the expression Eggs and Soldiers since I was a child. It sure was all important that the egg was done right.

Egg and soldiers are always good to starte the day. Not a huge Marmite fan though.
Nice arrangement.

Why don't we share? I'll eat the egg and you can have the "soldiers"!

All tastefully arranged on a sunshine-yellow plate. This brings back childhood memories Walter.

I'm afraid I'll pass, don't like boiled eggs or Marmite. Nicely done though.

Is it the same? I have seen the Marmite around here.

A childhood favourite! Easy on the Marmite there Walter, you only need a thin smear :o)
