This is how tyttebær blossoms, I do not know the English word for it. By September these flowers will develop into soursweet berries which after some termal processing accompany very well different meats, from turkey to deer. But, I like the flowers too.

Nice to see tyttebær in flower. We don't really have lingonberries (Vaccinium vitis-idaea) here in New England. We have cranberries (Vaccinium macrocarpon), which are functionally equivalent -- cranberry sauce is a staple with turkey at Thanksgiving -- but they grow in bogs, not on rocks like tyttebær. To harvest the fruit, just flood the field and rake the fruit off the water. It may be Massachusett's main agricultural crop. -- Peter

Those are lingonberries, we call them "lingon" in Sweden. We make jam out of them and eat the jam with meatballs. A favorite dish for children. Well OK even adults too.
