Our apartment in Chicago was in South Shore near both Jackson Park and Lake Michigan. We made good use of the location and often went to the beaches at 67th and 63rd Streets as well as to the park. This photo was taken in the fall of 1945, in the park, probably on or near the hill where we used to go sledding in the winter. Soon afterward, my mother became pregnant with my sister, Judy.
