Hmmm, I'm not sure about the merits or otherwise of this one, but I've put it in for now anyway. It was a shot that I had only a couple of seconds to get.
Around dawn each day, the lake's seagulls gather at their favourite meeting point on a boardwalk which runs along the shoreline. A woman who was working in a nearby restaurant came out and decided to run into them, which caused them to take off as a mass. I didn't have any time to change any of the settings of the camera to catch this; basically I just swung around, framed as best I could and started shooting.
I think it may have been more interesting had I been able to open up a couple of stops to perhaps catch some of the seagulls in mid-flight with a shallower depth of field rather than just having a bunch of blurry shadows shooting around in front of the Carillon. Or perhaps not. If you have an opinion, favourable or not, please feel free to share it with me and the other 7 viewers of my images!
