0238 Arachnophobia

Homebush Bay, Sydney NSW

(Best viewed at Original size.)

Remember how I said that the place was home to mangrove swamps? Well, in mangrove swamps, you get these. And not just one... this was a whole TOWNSHIP of webs, each with its own resident. These were but a sample.

(To be honest though, having to rely on manual focussing to get this shot was scarier than the spiders were...)

Incidentally, the place smelt like one of the more objectionable types of open sewer after recent rains, so I hope you spider fans appreciate the suffering of the photographer involved in bringing you this image.

Addendum: My personal opinion is that Facebook is a sociopathic organisation that steals other peoples' intellectual property (including the images in this gallery) despite being explicitly denied permission to do so. Facebook going out of business would IMO be a net gain for humanity.

I love spider shots! (And I do appreciate what a photographer goes through to get them) This is pretty neat...got the big one looking at the little guy...'lunch'
