The retired Daring class destroyer HMAS Vampire at what is probably her final home at the Maritime Museum. This is a sight that you wouldn't want to see bearing down on you if you were in a fishing boat, but it's been a long time since the Vampire has borne down on anything. I'm not sure whether her engines are still functional.
I plan to do a series of shots of her at a future time. (Edit September 2023, 16 years later: And still do. Some day.)
The retired Oberon class submarine HMAS Onslow (much rustier than her surface-going companion) can be seen in the background.
(Edit: In October 2008 Onslow was towed off to have some maintenance done, including getting rid of some of the rust. Her return is documented elsewhere in this gallery.)
