So THAT'S what happens when you skip the 5000km service. Or when you buy a Holden rather than a Mitsubishi...
Edit August 2021: When I wrote the line above about 15 years ago I added in parentheses "Just kidding General, don't sue me...". What a joke that turned out to be from the perspective of August 2021 when I'm writing this. After trousering billions in taxpayer subsidies over years and years to help them "adjust" to new market pressures, they spectacularly failed to do what needed to be done. That is, build cars that people actually wanted to buy. As a result they kept losing market share. Still, even when this shot was taken their sales, while constantly declining, were still significant in Australia. But pretty much as soon as the subsidies dried up, the General was out of here, calling an end to the entire brand (not just manufacturing) in February 2020. Despite GM being haughtily offended by any suggestion that they sold their dealership chain up a brown creek without a paddle, the facts on that can speak for themselves. I've never owned a Holden because they've never made a car that I would be interested in buying. I'd put more faith in this engine than in anything that GM built, and if they want to sue me for stating that opinion, they can bite me as well.
