So after yesterday's downpour we were hit with another one today. Then it stopped and the sun came out, and I got the camera out, and the sun went away again.
It's not exceptionally hot but after these drenchings it's exceptionally humid which makes it feel exceptionally hot.
It was obvious from both the forecast and the weather radar that this was a break between rain periods, not a cessation of them. Hence the original title of After The Rains did not work. Still, for the moment there was no rain falling on this hibiscus; just a few drops left over on the stamen and petals from the previous downpour. As I type this an hour or so afterwards I hear the rumble of thunder and the occasional drip of rain. I expect that these droplets will have company soon enough.
Still, not all of today was hot and humid. This morning I ventured down to Illawarra Meats, the retail outlet of the local meat wholesalers, where it is cool (in all senses) inside.
"How are you?", the female staff member asked.
"Fine thanks, and you?"
"Not bad."
"Actually I'm in a meat warehouse, I don't GET any better than this."
{Eyeroll} "That's what all men say, This, or Dan Murphy's" (the local liquor warehouse outfit).
This is of course untrue as I don't drink. But whack a Bunnings hardware warehouse on one side of the meat place and a Harris Technology store on the other, and THEN...
