Nietzsche said some ridiculous things, some interesting things, and some amazingly insightful things. And the quote that I have put for today's image title falls into the last grouping.
Somewhere out there (perhaps not in line of sight of these binoculars, but out there somewhere) is my place of employment.
Not that I'm suggesting it's an abyss, oh no my. Nor that I have spent far too long gazing into it. Nor that it has lost the plot to the extent that it makes the script writing of most soap operas look good, even Home And Away.

I was officially informed this morning that my assistant would be terminated from the end of February. I shall therefore be handling the entire budgeting season without a backup, and without the possibility of leave for at least 4 months, probably 5, from March to July inclusive.
Without backup. With no other single individual on the planet, much less the company, who has an appreciation of how the whole budget system hangs together, much less interfaces to and from other systems. Who runs a business that way?
To the person who does, I should quote another favourite philosopher of mine, Inspector "Dirty" Harry Callahan... "So you'd better ... pray that nothing happens to me."
