I'm posting this in December so I really don't recall all that much about the end of August. However clearly we had a few wet and sloppy days, including this one. The surf is pounding in towards the outlet pipes for the nearby Thirroul swimming pool, not that much swimming would have been going on at that time; the pool would have been closed for the winter.

Another shot that I took on this day shows the effect of the storms; the sand beneath the concrete steps leading to the beach had been completely washed away, leaving the steps just hanging there.
