I recall a time when coin operated weighing machines were quite common. These days they are a rarity. I suppose part of it has to do with how cheaply you can buy a set of bathroom scales these days (admittedly Chinese made rubbish which might last 12 to 18 months before it irretrievably fails), and perhaps part of it has to do with the fact that the western world has put on so much collective weight over the last couple of decades that we'd really rather not know how much we weigh.
I have no idea why somebody thought it would be a good idea to place one here or how much money it gets. Mind you, given that the advertisement to the right is for a restaurant in the casino perhaps it's intended to be a guilt trip to ensure that you don't over eat.
Wait, who am I kidding? It's the casino. They'll happily do anything they can to separate you from your money and that includes an extra few courses at the eateries.
