I didn't go to the Royal Easter Show for many years. I only started going regularly when I started entering photographs into the photographic competition. Which I have never even come close to winning a prize for, incidentally. I know exactly how Van Gogh must've felt, reputedly selling only a single painting in his lifetime, his genius only being appreciated after he cut off his ear and shot himself to death. I think that might be a slightly extreme course of action, however, so I'll just stick to taking more PADs. Aside from which the thought of any of my photos eventually selling for over 100 million bucks would make an interesting plot for a science fiction novel but would probably be stretching the boundaries of reality just a touch.
Of course, the Easter show is not just about arts, crafts and photography. It's also about livestock and agriculture. Indeed, elsewhere at the show you will find even more bull than is contained in the preceding paragraph. However, that is not our interest today; for today's PAD we go to the equine exhibition and in particular the stunt riders. I'm as impressed as all get out at the ability of some of these riders, but I think for my own self I'll stick to the activity shown on the right.
