Do you think it's at all possible that these two would be unaware of what our feathered friends are after?

Because the only creature less subtle than seagulls when it comes to food is Lucy the cat.

Edit August 2024: This is the second shot from this year where I was ragging on Lucy The Jungle Cat. At the time she was 8 or 9 kilograms. 10 years later (yes, she's still here at almost 19 at the time of writing) she's down to about 6kg.
